Body By Derby: Derby Over 40

Body By Derby is a figure study of active derby athletes to show the different body types of active skaters and the physical effects derby has on the players. This entry features skaters from central Indiana who are all 40 years and older.  These skaters represent Bleeding Heartland Roller Derby, Derby Lite Indianapolis, Circle City Derby Girls and Naptown Roller Girls. More pictures can be found at Cory's website. Get future updates on Facebook by following The Rollergirl Project.

  1. I was slightly hesitant about doing this, because I am working on getting in better shape. However, I think the images are beautiful and am so proud of myself and everyone who was involved in this. Thanks Cory!!

  4. I just turned 47 this year and was seriously considering retirement until I saw this post. You ladies inspired me to continue skating until my body doesn't allow me to skate anymore. (28.5 in 5min and going strong)

  7. Thank you for your inspiration! I played derby for a year about 5 years ago then became a couch potato. Now I have just returned at age 48 and restarting, wondering if I was too old. This helped me understand I am NOT too old and ready to rock and roll my younger derby sisters!
