Other Workout | To help build up fundamentals, I've been doing additional practices with MAD Derby in Branson, MO once a week and just recently began skating with a newly-formed co-ed group, Team KaPow. Outside of derby, I have jam skated (hip hop and breakdance on roller skates) for nearly 14 years. I still keep up with it whenever possible. At home, I'll do some additional core strengthening and upper body. |
Diet | I am hypoglycemic (consistently low blood sugar levels) so I have to have some sort of intake about every four hours. As far as what I eat, my body began disagreeing with super fried/greasy food when I started in derby. So it wasn't necessarily by choice that I have to keep an eye out for what I eat, but it is certainly a win win. |

Previous Athletic Experience | Before my Jam Skating days, I spent 13 years in dance (tap, jazz, and ballet) and a couple years in basketball. I do know for myself that none of it compares to what I do now playing Derby. I never imagined at 31 being in better shape than I was at 19. It's a blessing! |
