Body By Derby: Northwest Arkansas Roller Derby

Body By Derby is a figure study of active derby athletes to show the different body types of active skaters and the physical effects derby has on the players. Other Workout I do crossfit, I work out at the gym regularly, do yoga, and I skate outdoors.
Diet I am a pescetarian so basically the only meat i eat is seafood. I try to eat only whole foods, nothing that is over processed.

Other Workout I try to do Crossfit at least twice a week. Several of my teammates and I are a part of Crossfit Commence. We try to motivate and encourage each other during WODs. I also try to bike, go hiking, and run with my husband on the weekends.
Diet Not really. I decided to cut out soda this past year and have slowly been trying to cut down the amount of sugar I consume. My big thing is just trying to balance out what I'm eating. However, that being said, I am not one to back down from eating a nice juicy burger, with a side or fries, and a shake, or some good old BBQ!

Previous Athletic Experience I did a lot of sports as a kid. I was on the volleyball team, the swim team, and ran track for several years. However, after my first year in high school I changed course a little bit and got involved with drama and art instead. When I went to college, I ended up getting involved with ballroom and swing dancing, helping to teach and sometimes even entering into swing dance competitions.

Other Workout Cross Fit 2-3 times a week and I try to get in a few days of running or trail skating - All of this is done with other members of my team (in a non-official way), so it helps keep you motivated.
Diet I've been a vegetarian for many years and I really try to get in all the protein I need.

Previous Athletic Experience I danced when I was younger and ran, but never played a sport.

Other Workout I try to go bouldering when I can. I also go to the gym and do yoga every so often.
Diet

I have reactive hypoglycemia, so I avoid sugar. Other than that, I don't have any restrictions on the food that I eat. I love cheese fries way too much for my own good!

Previous Athletic Experience I used to rollerblade, skateboard, and snowboard when I was younger. More recently, I hiked, kayaked, and bouldered a lot before roller derby.
